Parallax Launch New Website For Global Brand Hisense
Parallax are delighted to announce the launch of another brand new website, this time for Chinese electronics manufacturer, Hisense.
Hisense are one of the largest manufacturers of white goods and consumer electronics in the world, with an annual revenue of $15 billion. They are the fifth largest television manufacturer in the world, and the largest in China. More recently, they’ve spread to the USA, the rest of Asia and Europe. In Australia, they also sponsor the Hisense Arena in Melbourne, a multi-purpose 11,000 capacity venue. Hisense also entered the tablet market in 2013 with the impressively powerful, yet handsomely priced Sero 7.
Looking to branch into the UK marketplace and promote their vast range of electronics, home appliances, commercial appliances and technology, Hisense UK approached Parallax to help them develop a new website that would establish them as a reputable and trustworthy electronics manufacturer in an extremely competitive new territory.
All about the user experience
User experience was at the forefront of the website design. The UK is renowned for being a particularly tech savvy and discerning market to try and establish an unfamiliar electronics brand in, and we had to bear this in mind every step of the way when designing the new site.
Through the use of engaging imagery, an intuitive navigation, bespoke icongraphy and clear product information, we developed a website that is both enjoyable to look at and a pleasure to browse. Not only that, the website is responsive and looks beautiful across multiple display sizes and mobile devices, including their very own Sero 7 tablet.
All developed using our own CMS Expose, we built an intelligent product building system that makes adding new products easy for the team at Hisense. Using a series of options in the admin area of the CMS, users can change the layout, add images, product type, features, specs and much more.
We also developed a ‘quick view’ when users are browsing products, which allows them to quickly look at some images and key info about a product, without having to look at the main product page. Users can also go straight to find a stockist from this Quick View section.
Product support was another key consideration for us. With multiple products, ensuring that customers were able to get the support they required was essential. We developed a section of the website that features FAQs, Product Registration, a Download Centre, User Manuals, Warranty Information and an intelligent contact area. Downloading a manual couldn’t be simpler – simply select the product you own and a PDF of the manual instantly downloads for you.
We’re incredibly happy to tell you that our work with Hisense hasn’t ended with launching the UK website. Over the next 12 months, we’ll be rolling out our new design to Hisense’s global counterparts, bringing this fresh look and considered usability to their customers all around the world.
